This Privacy Policy explains how Externalizable (“we”, “us”) approaches information when you visit externalizable.com, read educational pages about home warranty coverage, or use a form to request a conversation, a plan outline, a testimonial note, a subscription, or an unsubscribe action. We wrote this policy in ordinary language because warranty members already deal with enough fine print in coverage documents.
This website is designed as a static, client-side experience. Forms check that fields are complete and then show a confirmation message in your browser. They do not send data to a hidden application server as part of this demo site’s operation. That fact is itself a privacy feature: you should still treat anything you type as information you are willing to share with a representative who later follows up, and you should avoid entering secrets, payment card numbers, or government identification numbers into these pages.
1. Scope
This policy covers the public website and the informational emails described on the Subscribe and Unsubscribe pages. If you later enter a paid home warranty agreement, that agreement or an accompanying notice may describe additional records such as claim files, contractor reports, and payment ledgers. Those operational records are used to administer coverage and are not the same as browsing a marketing page.
This policy does not apply to independent service professionals who visit a home, to social platforms you use when you choose a share button, or to any site we do not operate. Share buttons open a third-party window so you can post a link. Those platforms have their own rules.
2. Information you choose to type
Depending on the form, you may type a name, email address, plan interest, topic, message about household systems, testimonial text, subscription preference, or unsubscribe reason. We ask only for what a representative needs to understand a home warranty question. We do not ask for a physical address or telephone number on this website.
You should not include financial account numbers, passwords, or sensitive health information. If a future claim process needs a photo of a model plate, that request will be described in a follow-up conversation rather than as an upload field on this static site.
When a form is validated and you see the message “Thank You! one of our representative will contact you”, the page is confirming that your entries met the browser checks. It is not a receipt that a database has stored the record. Keep your own copy if you need one.
3. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the files that make up this site may be requested by your browser together with standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and referring page when the site is hosted on a web server. We do not use that technical data to build advertising profiles on this static presentation. If a hosting provider keeps ordinary access logs for security and reliability, those logs are used to keep the site available and to investigate abuse, not to score households for warranty pricing.
We do not drop advertising cookies from this site’s own code. If you play a video hosted elsewhere in a future version, that host might set its own cookies. The current pages use local images and scripts only.
4. How information is used
Information you choose to share with a representative is used to: answer a coverage question; prepare a plan outline; record a testimonial request; add or remove an email from an educational list; improve how we explain waiting periods, service fees, and exclusions; and protect the site from fraud or misuse.
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent the educational list to unrelated home-improvement advertisers. We may use aggregated, de-identified observations (for example, “many visitors ask about water heaters in colder months”) to decide which educational articles to write next.
5. Email lists
If you subscribe, you choose topics such as appliance care, HVAC and water systems, or plan updates. You can unsubscribe through the dedicated page. Educational mail should stop after a valid request is processed. Messages that are necessary to administer an accepted warranty—such as a coverage change you already agreed to—may still be sent because they are part of the service contract, not a newsletter.
We will not hide the unsubscribe link. It remains in the site footer on every page, together with the Terms and Privacy links, so you do not have to hunt through a marketing menu.
6. Sharing
We may share information with: team members who need it to reply; an appointed plan administrator if you enroll; independent contractors only to the extent a later approved claim requires a work order; professional advisors under confidentiality duties; or authorities when the law requires a disclosure. We do not publish your email on the public site as part of a testimonial unless you clearly ask us to include it, which we do not recommend.
If the brand or website operations are transferred as part of a reorganization, related records would move with the service under this same kind of notice, and members would be told if the responsible operator changes.
7. Retention
Because this static site does not keep a server-side inbox by itself, retention begins when a representative actually receives and files your note. Inquiry notes that do not become a plan are kept only as long as needed to finish the conversation and any required bookkeeping. Plan and claim records follow the retention period in the coverage agreement or applicable record-keeping rules, which is often longer because a later dispute may need the original request.
Browser confirmation messages disappear when you leave the page. Clearing your browser does not withdraw a request you already asked a representative to act on; use the contact or unsubscribe form instead.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical care when a representative handles email. No method of transmission is perfectly secure. Do not send payment card details through the public forms. If you suspect that someone used your email to impersonate you on a form, write to us through the contact page and describe the date and the topic.
9. Children
This site is intended for adults who can make decisions about a household’s mechanical systems. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child submitted a form, contact us so we can decline further follow-up on that note.
10. International visitors
The site may be viewed from many places. Content is written about home warranty protection in general and does not target a single country in the narrative. If you are in a region with specific privacy rights—such as a right to access, correct, or delete personal information that a business holds—you may send that request through the contact form. We will explain what we actually hold after a representative conversation, which may be little or nothing if you only browsed static pages and never followed up by email.
11. Your choices
You can browse most pages without forms. You can refuse optional educational email. You can ask us to correct a name or topic preference. You can request a summary of a conversation you had with a representative. You can use browser controls to limit cookies from other sites you visit after leaving ours.
Do not use the unsubscribe form to cancel an active warranty. Cancellation of paid coverage, if available, follows the plan document. The unsubscribe form only addresses educational lists.
12. Third-party fonts and links
This site loads fonts from a public font service so headings remain consistent. That service may see your browser request for the font files. We also link to our own inner pages and to share destinations you choose. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of destinations we do not control.
13. Photographs and testimonials
Project and service photographs are natural images of homes and trades used to illustrate coverage categories. They are not watermarked dummy images. They should not be read as photographs of a particular member’s property unless a caption says so. Written testimonials may be shortened for space. We will not invent a quote. If you want a published story updated or removed, use the contact form.
14. Automated decisions
This website does not use automated credit scoring or facial recognition. Plan illustrations on the pricing page are not a personalized underwriting decision. A representative reviews the systems you describe before any enrollment is treated as complete.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site’s features change—for example, if a future version adds a hosted claims portal. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes that affect an educational list, we will say so in a list notice when we can reach the address on file.
16. How to reach us about privacy
Send privacy questions through the Contact Us form. State that your note is about privacy, which email you used, and what you want us to do: an explanation, a correction, a deletion of an inquiry note, or a list removal. For list removal you may also use the Unsubscribe Email page. We will not ask you to visit an office or to call a number to exercise these choices on this website.
If your question is really about whether a home system is covered, that is a coverage question, not a privacy question. You can still write through the same form; a representative will route it to the right role.
17. Summary in one paragraph
Externalizable’s public site explains home warranty coverage, uses natural photographs, and offers validated forms that stay in the browser until you choose to share the same details with a representative. We do not publish your phone number or street address because we do not collect them here. We do not sell lists. You can subscribe and unsubscribe from educational notes in the footer. Plan administration, if you enroll later, follows the separate coverage document and only uses additional information needed to review a household system and coordinate an appropriate response.
